HANNAH VANDENBOUT

Founder | Chief Fashion Officer | Buying Director

Hannah VandenBout is an Austin, Texas based fashion and brand strategist with more than 15 years of experience in buying, merchandising, and brand development across eCommerce and multi-channel retail. She has built her career working with early-stage startups, growth brands, and multi-channel retailers, shaping product strategies, building assortments, and guiding brand growth with a balance of creativity and commercial clarity.

Hannah works in a fractional capacity as Chief Fashion Officer and Buying Director, partnering with early-stage, emerging, and established luxury brands on seasonal planning, brand development, and go-to-market strategy. She operates as a true strategic partner, embedded in the work, building the internal clarity that makes every buying and brand decision easier. Her strength is translation: taking consumer insight and turning it into revenue-driving product decisions, identifying opportunity, and shaping high-performing assortments while grounding aesthetic instincts in the numbers and systems that make them sustainable. Few people move fluently between a mood board and a margin sheet. Hannah does both, because a brand only grows if the two agree with each other.

From The Fashion Desk has two specialist divisions: Consulting and The Desk.

Consulting is the fractional Chief Fashion Officer and Buying Director work described above, built for early-stage, emerging, and established luxury brands. The same methodology is available self-serve through The Buyer's Toolkit, a set of buying and merchandising templates for teams who need the tools without the full engagement.

The Desk lives on Substack, published under the same name, From The Fashion Desk, and extends across Instagram and ShopMy, where Hannah explores the business of fashion, brand growth, and strategy through a buyer's lens: an edit of what matters now, what endures, and how style and strategy intersect in a fast-moving industry, written by someone who has sat in the buy meetings and built the assortments, not just observed them from outside. The Desk now includes brand partnerships, connecting that audience with brands looking for a credible voice in the room.
